Im a music theorist and musicologist with interests in the global history of music theory, atonal music analysis, and modernism studies. I hold a Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of British Columbia and have designed and led courses at Harvard College and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In my book project, Inventing Atonal Music: Ultramodernism from Mexico to Russia, I reevaluate the emergence of atonal musical thought before World War II from a global perspective. My work has been published recently in Music Theory Online and Music Theory Spectrum, and I have an entry forthcoming in Thinking Music: Global Sources in the History of Music Theory. I co-chair the Society for Music Theorys Autographs and Archival Documents Interest Group.
